For those of us that have ever had their hearts broken but still manage to stay optimistic about love. This heart has been pieced back together, by whatever means possible, to continue trying.

It is carved from a solid piece of sycamore, about an inch thick, and stained cabernet red and dark walnut. The 25 watt candelabra nostalgic antique spiral Edison bulb is operated by the dimmer wheel on the base, and can be adjusted to the desired brightness. The base is also made of sycamore. The total height is approximately 15" and the heart is 7" wide, while the base is 5" in diameter. All metal is solid brass except the staples. 7' cord.

For those of us that have ever had their hearts broken but still manage to stay optimistic about love. This heart has been pieced back together, by whatever means possible, to continue trying.

It is carved from a solid piece of sycamore, about an inch thick, and stained cabernet red and dark walnut. The two 25 watt candelabra nostalgic antique spiral Edison bulbs are operated by the brass dimmer wheel in the center, and can be adjusted to the desired brightness. The base is made of a solid piece of cedar, cut right from a tree trunk. The total height is approximately 22" and the heart is 17" wide, while the base is about 14" in diameter. The pipes are painted black with a hammered and pitted look, and alternating solid brass pieces, they are 1/2" thick. The power cord is about 8'. There are rubber feet bolted to the bottom to keep it from sliding around. This is a very large, heavy piece, made of premium wood.

$200.00 (black) - $250.00 (black & brass) free shipping in the continental U.S. - both versions in stock and ready to ship

Standing about 15" tall with the bulbs installed, this dual bulb Edison style lamp is one of my earliest designs and still a favorite. The base measures 7 1/2" squared and is a red cabernet stain with multiple layers of lacquer and gloss sealer. Bolted rubber feet installed in each corner to keep it in place. The cord is made of cloth (black or red), vintage styled, non-polarized and is about 5 feet long. The iron 1/2 piping is painted black or I can add brass parts, which looks really nice with the black for a few dollars more. Both sockets accept medium 120 volt bulbs, and are operated by the brushed nickel on/off toggle switch located at the front of the base. It comes with the bulbs pictured, two 4 inch tall 40 watt Edison bulbs with a spiral filament in a Manhattan Smoke tinted glass. If black and brass is chosen, the bolts and switch will also be brass.

A set of wood praying hands from the 1950's, reanimated as Frankenstein's Monster Edison lamp bookends. I'm not sure what kind of wood the actual hands are made of, but the bases are oak, and painted red and black. For the hands I had to strip all of the original finish off and painted them with two shades of green, brown, red, white and black, all with multiple layers of gloss sealer. It is very detailed and the pictures don't do these justice, but this is one of my proudest pieces. They are large and heavy, standing at about 12" tall and 13" long each. Fitted with rubber feet.

They each have their own Edison lamp built into the base. Made from 1/2" pipes that have been painted black with a pitted/hammered finish. They take standard sized 120 volt bulbs, and will come with a set of Edison bulbs of your choice pictured, first row rounded (preferred) or second row taller. The are operated and wired individually so they can be placed however you like, and each have a 8' cord.

This is a repurposed/upcycled antique, a one off piece, and I will never have another like it.

A unique set of bookends that also act as individual Edison lamps. The bases for these are oak, and cut into the shape of a toe pincer coffin, both on the top and bottom, and stained with a Cabernet red finish. The gallows are made from pine, and stained with a dark walnut finish. Each have been coated in multiple layers of lacquer and gloss sealer for long lived protection and beauty. The gallows rope is a twisted tan, cloth covered wire and the socket is candelabra sized with an antiqued brass finish. The bulbs are 25 watt and have a squirrel cage filament, they are included. They are operated by the on/off toggle switch located approximately 1' from the base, and wired individually so they can be placed however you like, and each have a 8' cord. They are large and heavy, standing at about 14" tall and 14" long each. Fitted with rubber feet. A LOT of time and work went into these, and I am very proud of them.

Although not specifically a stand alone lamp, these bookends are one of my most asked about pieces. With the bulbs used in the photos they are about 11" tall. The bases measure 6 1/2" by 5 1/2" each, and the backs are 7" tall, and are a red Cabernet stain with multiple layers of lacquer and gloss sealer. They each have 4 rubber feet to keep your books in place. The 1/2" iron pipes have been painted with a black pitted hammered finish. They are operated and wired individually so they can be placed however you like, even on different shelves when using the wall or other object as the opposite end, and each have a 7' cord. They accept all medium 120 volt bulbs and the keys can be re-positioned to work from different angles. They come with the bulbs pictured, two 4 inch tall 40 watt Edison bulbs with a spiral filament in a Manhattan Smoke tinted glass.

This is a custom photo lamp, made with your photo or any one of mine on my website, your choice. You have a few options:

A:  You send me a photo unedited. Portrait, family portrait, or any other kind of photo, and I will edit it for you. Once I've come up with a few different versions I will contact you back and see which you like best. This is covered in the cost.

B:  You have a finished photo that needs no work done to it, it's ready to be printed. Send it to me and I'll take it from there.

C:  You chose any photo you want from my site michaelhillphotography.com

After you have decided what option you want I send it to the printers to be printed on aluminum, which they send to me. Once I have it I will rough up the corners and edges, maybe a few other spots, and use chemicals to cause those areas to rust and corrode, giving it an aged patina'd look. And I will mount it onto the lamp with two screws so that the photo can be changed later if you want to order another by itself, without having to buy another lamp. The charge for another photo is $70 and includes the same treatment listed above.

The lamp will be about 16" high with the bulbs installed. The base measures about 11 1/2" squared and is a red Cabernet stain with multiple layers of lacquer and gloss sealer. The photo will be 10"x10".  Bolted rubber feet in each corner to keep it in place. The cord is black cloth, vintage styled, non-polarized and is about 5 feet long. The iron 1/2" piping is painted a gloss black with hammer pitted finish, and is sealed to never come loose. Both sockets accept medium 120 volt bulbs, and are operated by the brushed nickel on/off toggle switch located at the front of the base. It comes with both bulbs pictured, two 7 inch tall Savannah Amber, 30 watt Edison bulbs with a beautiful hairpin filament.

Production time on these are about 2 weeks minimum and up to 4 weeks or more, although likely not that long. Once the photo is sent to the printers that is the point of no return, there can be no refunds on the photo and it is out of my hands until I get it in the mail from them. Sometimes they get backed up and it could take time. The printers I use do museum and art gallery quality prints, I have been using them for a long time with my photography and shows. They are heavy and very, very nice.

One of my more simple and classic designs for an Edison lamp. This one is 16" tall with a 5"x7" pine wood base, in my favorite Cabernet red stain with the usual layers of lacquer and gloss sealer. The pipes are 1/2" black iron, painted in black with a hammered finish. It has a 6" cord and is operated by the keyed socket installed upside down. It comes with your choice of bulbs pictured.

Little frank is a repurposed wooden Frankenstein monster that I found in an antique store, estimated to be from the early 70's. I added the base, and electrical parts to reanimate him, but left the original aged paint and coated it all in a few layers of gloss to protect it. The base is painted black, measures  5"x7" and the whole thing stands about 13" tall with the bulb installed, and it has an 8' cord. It comes with your choice of candelabra bulbs, pictured in the first and second photos. It is operated by the antique nickel turn nob on the base.

This is a repurposed/upcycled antique, a one off piece, and I will never have another like it.

This is a small old bird cage that I found in an antique store, and repurposed into a lamp. I added a few different sized bases to give it the stacked look, and painted it in multiple layers of matte black to give it a kind of gothic look. The antique brass candelabra sized socket is operated by an inline toggle switch located about a foot down the cord from the base. I added black felt to the bottom and some rubber feet to keep it from sliding around, It is 12" tall and the base is 8" round, the cord length is about 8'.

This is a repurposed/upcycled antique, a one off piece, and I will never have another like it.

This is a Edison lamp made from a repurposed vintage Revere Eight Kodachrome camcorder that I found in an antique store. I gutted the inside and added the wiring with a full range dimmer and antique nickel wheel, nickel pipes and a small tripod. It comes with your choice of candelabra bulbs pictured, and has a twisted 7' tan cloth covered cord. Total height is about 16" with the bulb installed. This is a smaller piece and would go nice on a desk top, where it won't be bumped and easily knocked over.

These are past pieces that are no longer available, either one off designs or custom work. Contact me if you would like something similar to see what's possible.

Wooden, hand carved carousel horses, estimated to be from the 50's. I found these in an antique store and repurposed them as lamps.

Custom rosary box and handmade mother of pearl / red coral Catholic rosary (by me too). Black felt liner, antique brass socket with brass embellishments. Bulb was a special order from Europe, it has a light up cross that glows a pinkish tint when turned on.

A vintage Brownie Hawkeye camera with flash that I found in an antique store. I gutted the inside and added the wiring with a full range dimmer and antique nickel wheel, with a candelabra sized bulb in the space where the flash was.

A sort of night light for a friends daughters room, who was born on St. Patricks Day. The shamrock is made of pallet wood and the base is made of discarded sycamore, both painted and distressed to give it an aged look. Her nickname is "Coco" so I added it with some children's alphabet blocks on the top. The candelabra bulb is operated with the brass wheel in front, using a full range dimmer.

Gothic street light liquor box, operated by the antique brass rotary switch on the front. The red felt interior was added custom (owners favorite color) with a complimentary bottle of his favorite poison.

This one stood at about 15 inches tall with the 40 watt squirrel cage bulb installed, this is one of my smallest lamps. Although pretty simple looking, to make it a complete circle, when you tighten one part another comes loose and doesn't stay sealed very well. Lots of frustration went into this one and because of that I will work on a different, but similar, design.
